Sun Printed Market Bags: Cyanotype Workshop

Join Leslie, in the intimate setting of her downtown Staunton design studio, to learn cyanotype printing, a method for creating beautiful botanical prints using sunlight! In cyanotype printing, light-sensitive dye is applied to fabric or paper and objects are placed over the surface to block the sunlight. Once the surface is exposed to sunlight, a vibrant blue color emerges and you’re left with a dreamy botanical print.

Leslie will have a variety of botanicals to work with but you are encouraged to collect and bring a selection of leaves, flowers and other found botanicals that are special to you. She will teach you how to compose and expose your very own cyanotype prints, including a sun printed tote bag.

Minimum class size is 6 participants. If the minimum is not met, the workshop may need to be canceled.

Leslie is a wonderful teacher... I didn’t expect this workshop to be so therapeutic.
